We are pleased to announce a fantastic line up of artists for the upcoming Waiheke Olive Festival that’s taking place right here at Rangihoua Estate on Sat/Sun 22nd/23rd Nov 2014.
Tickets are on sale now, priced at just $15 per adult (children under 12 enter free when accompanied by a paying adult). Along with the live music, you can also find out all about olives and of course, enjoy a wide range of delicious food (more on that coming soon).
Could this be the best event of the year? We think so, and we’re so excited… we’re finding it hard to wait !

Saturday Headline Act – Sal Valentine & The Babyshakes
Widely regarded as one of the finest live acts in the country, Sal Valentine & The Babyshakes have twisted the fabric of musical time and lived to deliver you a curated selection of infectious and original rhythm and blues. Frontman and songwriter Sal Valentine is framed by a slick quartet of horns toting heavy licks and a polished rhythm section comprised of piano, double bass and drums.
Alongside the instrumentalists stand the foils to Sal Valentine: accomplished vocalists Chelsea Prastiti and Siobhan Grace. They are collectively named The Babyshakes, and have been declared by Valentine to be ‘Auckland’s Number 1 Band’.

Sunday Headline Act – Latinaotearoa
Latinaotearoa is a latin-funk soul & hiphop outfit that has been on the uprise in land of the long white cloud, New Zealand. Amazing Vocalist Jeniffer Zea’s from Venezuela, DJ Bobby Brazuka the unofficial Brazilian ambassador of music and culture in New Zealand and Isaac Aesili a talented producer and in-demand New Zealand percussionist and trumpeter.
Together they create a unique and truly legitimate Latin act with a local flavour, both bending and blending the traditional music of their homelands with the modern sounds of here and now. With the musical pedigree, multi-cultural exposure, impressive artist interaction and sheer talent that these artists possess, this trio is sure to shuffle feet and swing hips. Saturday Line Up
The Silverblue Set.The silverblue set plays smooth swinging jazz classics from the great American songbook, paying homage to the great artists of bygone eras. The silverblue set features vocalist Sarah-Jane Limbrick, Peter Reilly on guitar, Rick Shanks on harmonica, Aaron Coddel on bass and Phil Barker on drums. The Solomon Cole Band
The Solomon Cole Band is comprised of T.A.C. bassist and veteran UK song-writer Lee Catlin and Waiheke Island drummer extraordinaire Dione Denize who, alongside Cole’s wailing blues/soul vocal delivery, create a set of explosive and exalted blues, folk and roots based songs. The trio promise to be organic, uncontrolled and harmonious all at the same time as they aim for something that straddles raw blues, rock’n’roll and soul music wrapping it up in a foot stomping electric swagger that gets the place shaking. Sunday Line Up
Using only her voice and guitar Soulsista draws on personal experiences to craft her melodic lyrics and tunes. If you have seen her live you will know she has unforgettable presence and is a powerhouse that can captivate any audience.
Soulsista looks to nature in all its many beautiful forms to provide inspiration. Even the ‘nature’ of who we can be in times of triumphs and tribulations. She embraces international influences including Bob Marley, Jill Scott, Sade and Ben Harper which all resonate in her music. Cat Tunks (aka BlackSandDiva) is a well known performer on Waiheke after wowing crowds at Waiheke Jazz Festival since 2011, including a performance with the BlackSandDiva band at Rangihoua this year for the Good Friday Groove.
Performing a blend of jazz, funk, reggae and soul, her own brand of ‘South Pacific Jazz Funk’ has been played worldwide, she will be performing material from BlackSandDiva and her new upcoming single release straight after returning from the Samoana Jazz & Arts Festival, with her great band of Auckland based musicians.
