Radio Rebelde are throwing one last big party for the Summer, and you’re invited!
We’ve teamed up with Rangihoua Estate to bring you a smorgasbord of awesome live entertainment, food and wine, all set in Rangihoua’s stunning, lush surroundings.
And what’s a party without friends?
We have a brand new solo set from the gorgeous Nikki Ngatai of Øyawa fame, dusting off her loop pedal and layering some sweet sonic soundscapes with that unmistakable unique sultry voice of hers.
Fresh from opening for the likes of Katchafire, The Black Seeds, and Knights Of The Dub Table, there’s the effortlessly talented Leighton Fairlie. He blends old school electronic beats, with Aotearoa flavoured roots, dub and hip hop, and fresh acoustic melodies. Leighton is fascinating to watch and irresistible to dance to.
Along the way we’ve got tropical beats from our very own DJ Chikaa Licorica, recently returned from Splore and her South American festival tour, she’ll keep you moving’ and groovin’ between live sets throughout the day.
But wait… There’s more!
A man of many guises, Aaron Carpenter can be seen hanging out with his band of Revelators, or going low-key and undercover as one half of the Mojo Risers. But we’ve managed to nab him with long-time collaborators, and successful musicians in their own rights, Dave Alley and Kiri Eriwata. The ticket price is worth it just to see these guys performing together!
Of course, yours truly, Radio Rebelde are planning a few LatinSka punk party favourites for you to dance and jump and wiggle to, just the way you like it. And if you haven’t experienced a live Rebelde show before, now’s your chance to find out what all the fuss is about.
And finally, we have a big treat in store. We found him in Mount Maunganui and we were blown away by his electric performance. This guy doesn’t just play music, he IS the music. Once you experience DJ Mufasa (NZ), you won’t forget it, we promise! Frenetic, explosive, manic, and the perfect way to end the best party of the Summer.
